Malume, beso!
This short article is a teaser for our next issue, tentatively out in July 2025. Re sa ntse re kha moroho, re kapa patsi, re hotetsa ifo, joale re tlo qela letsoai hore re hle re etse masutsa.
For our next issue, we’ll be thinking about themes of community and togetherness. What comes to mind ha u utloa “ntja-peli ha e hloloe le sebata” kapa “letšoele le beta poho”? Where have you seen these in your life in the diaspora and at home? How fitting, then, that we start with an ask.
Two, actually:
From Theko Tlebere, a PhD candidate in Theoretical Economics at Peking University (China), originally from Lesotho.
Dear Basotho Health Professionals,
As part of my doctoral research, I am conducting a study titled: “Addressing Health Sector Challenges Through Brain Circulation: An Analysis of Lesotho's National Diaspora and Migration Policies.”
The purpose of this research is to critically examine how the emigration of Basotho health professionals has affected the country’s health sector and to explore strategies for leveraging the skilled diaspora to improve healthcare delivery through brain circulation.
To support this work, I have launched a short survey (15–20 minutes) that invites participation from all Basotho health professionals, as well as stakeholders working in health, migration, or public policy. The survey is open until 30 June 2025, and can be accessed here:

I would greatly appreciate it if readers could complete the survey and share it within their networks. Your insights are vital to finding practical and sustainable solutions to strengthen Lesotho’s healthcare sector.
