Likhomo, oeso!
When we started this newsletter a few months ago, we dreamed that it would become many things. One, that it would be a place to compile information and resources for Basotho in the diaspora and in Lesotho.
We also hoped that more of us would get to know one another through the articles we share here. We wanted it to be a space where we could learn one another’s stories of (im)migration, of the dreams we have for our families and communities, of the businesses and organizations we are part of. These things matter, because we belong to one another.
This year, would you help us with these wishes?
Maybe you could write a small piece about something that’s been on your mind recently. We would help you edit and refine the write-up! 💡🤔
Or, give us your five best pieces of advice for those who are thinking of moving to your corner of the globe. What do you wish you’d known before you left Lesotho? 🫂🤗
Are you thinking of starting a business or putting an art exhibition together? Re meme! 🎨💼
Tell us about your Honours or Masters Thesis, what was it about? ✍🏿📖
Did you move back to Lesotho after some time away? What was that transition like? 🛬🏔️
Don’t you love seeing what other Basotho around the globe are up to? We have an events section in every newsletter. Send us your pictures to share with others! If you met up with other Basotho in Ethiopia for dinner, send us a snap of the group and the menu. If you represented the country at a conference, tell us what it was about. If there’s a group of us in Vietnam, let us know what you like to do when you come together.
Our 4th issue will be coming out Mid-March.
You can send your submissions to us anytime before 1 March 2024.
